Frances McDormand is a truly a great actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her works in "Fargo" and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri". She never really stars in big blockbuster movies but she always does great work.
In "Nomadland" she plays "Fern". "Fern" is a widow who spent most of her life in a rural town in Nevada. When it shutdown she was forced to hit the road. The movie chronicles her journey as she traveled from town to town.
From working at Amazon to working as a Camp Host "Fern" lived out her life. The problem with the movie is that her life was boring.
The script just shows "Fern" moving from one job to the next. It was kind of boring. The cast includes David Strathairn and a bunch of unknown actors.
The director Chloé Zhao created a boring movie. She is also the director of the first post Avengers Marvel movie, "Eternals". It might be boring too.
